Catching Up On A Year

Okay, we are incredibly far behind but I am determined to make it up and catch everyone up. So, in order to catch up, I'm gonna hit ya' hard, I'm gonna hit ya' fast!

First, there was actual Christmas. Elizabeth lucked out with tons of baby doll toys.

Owen received his share of toys.

Later, in January, we all went to DisneyWorld.

Then we travelled to St. Augustine to visit friends (and alligators).

Later, in March, we all went to the St. Patrick's day parade in town

Then in April we went on an Easter egg hunt at our park

Christmas Eve

It's Christmas Eve! We went over to Nonna's and Pop's for Christmas eve dinner after the church service.  We all relaxed together and the kids had fun playing together and burning off some of the excitement.
After the festivities ended, we went home and prepared for Santa's visit.  The kids and Amy even made some very tasty Christmas cookies.

Christmas in Tunica

This weekend we celebrated Christmas in Tunica with Papa and MawMaw, Zabe and Kristina, and Uncle Burt and Aunt Rebekah.

It was nice to see everyone in the same place, especially since it's a fairly rare occurrence.
The family visited, ate and enjoyed good company.  Then, it was time for the kids' favorite activity...presents. Elizabeth helped Aunt Rebekah hand out everyone's presents to them.
She also helped people open their presents.

Later, she spent all her time baking cakes with her new playset while Owen wrestled his new snake.

Plus, Owen was enjoying his MS State Bulldog sleeping bag.
 Merry Christmas everyone!

Pre Christmas Goings On

The first bit of December was especially busy.  We have birthday parties and activities and parades and shows to attend.  Again, for your enjoyment, the abridged version:

At the Madison, MS Christmas Parade

Darth Vader even made a holiday appearance.  Although, all he did was force choke one guy and he tried to turn Owen to the dark side.
We also went to Bellhaven University to see their annual singing Christmas tree.
Amy and the kids had a Christmas themed story time at the library.  Here are the kids with Mrs. Lizzy.
Amy and I even took the kids to see a live performance of the Nutcracker.  They made it all the way through intermission without issue but they didn't make it much into the second act. They did enjoy it though!
Finally, Owen had his school Christmas program where he was the best cow anyone had ever seen.
Can you spot him in the cast?

Christmas Eve '09

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house every creature was stirring including this little mouse.
The tables were set with great food and great care while we tried to corral two kids with wild hair.
When dinner is finished kids know that it's time to get pictures with family so let's form a line.  First, family pictures with Nonna and Pop, even though kids want the smiling and posing to stop.
Just one more pic and we're done for a while so the kids sit real still and pose with a smile.
Once we get home and pick P.J.'s to wear, we check and make sure that all stockings are there.
Then, make sure cookies for Santa are plenty.  There were a ton of them there, it seemed close to twenty!
One final story then we all stop and say, merry Christmas to all it's been quite a day!

Christmas Parade

This morning, the city of Madison held its annual Christmas parade for everyone in the town.  It was made even better by the rare snow that had fallen the night before.
Owen didn't mind the cold.

There were plenty of good floats to watch as they passed by.

After the parade, everyone hung around the park and played in the snow. Owen made a snow/mud angel.

The kids also worked on making a snowman.  Well actually, Owen worked on it while Elizabeth ate the snow.

We also had our picture taken to commemorate the rare Mississippi snowfall.

Thanksgiving Day

We had our Thanksgiving in Tunica at Papa and MawMaw's house.  The whole family was there and Owen and Elizabeth had fun playing with everyone.  Elizabeth got some time on the swing with Papa and Uncle Burt.

Then, it was time for Owen and Uncle Burt to take a trip on the mighty Mississip'.

We also all posed for the obligatory family Thanksgiving picture.

Happy Thanksgiving!

The New Orleans trip: Part 3

On the final day we woke up, ate some breakfast, packed our bags and headed to the French quarter. Owen was our bellhop.

We toured the windy and cold French Quarter for awhile. Owen saw all kinds of interesting tourists and street performers around Jackson Square.

Artists, musicians, drunkards, carriage drivers, etc. We saw everything. It was a good trip. One that I can see us repeating in the near future.
