Owen's Swimming Lessons

Owen has been taking swimming lessons for about a month this summer. These last two weeks in his newest class, he's shown a lot of improvement.


He's always willing to get into the water and he goes under without any problem but now he's also trying harder to get the concept of using your legs to propel yourself through the water.

His next stop, the English channel.

Museum fun

The natural science museum, here in Jackson, has a special exhibit that just recently opened called, "The Monsters of the Deep". We took the kids to see it and Owen had a great time. They have normal sea life on display in an elaborate setup. They also have "sea monsters" like a model of the giant squid, sharks and some sea faring dinosaurs that I can't remember but I'm sure Owen could tell me what they were. They also have hands on things for kids to do on top of their normal massive room of aquariums and a mock up of swamp lands which contain Owen's favorite creature, the Alligator.

They also have a couple of nature trails that the kids like to walk and explore.

Finally, Owen and Elizabeth put a massive floor puzzle together. Teamwork...teamwork!

Trip: Pass Christian

We took a trip to the MS coast to visit friends of ours.  The trip may be a little long but it's always worth it.  Our hosts always have really good food and they always are up for entertaining guests.  The kids had a good time playing together.  Elizabeth and Samantha had fun playing in the ball pit.

                                      

Meanwhile, Owen had fun playing with Richard's toys and swimming in the pool.  

Sibling Bonding Time

Owen is taking his big brother responsibilities seriously.  Recently, he's even been teaching Elizabeth how to drive.

Congratulations Burt and Rebekah

Burt Caraway and Rebekah Robinson were married in Greenville, MS.  Owen was the ring bearer.  Congratulations guys, (and good job Owen).

Owen's school program

Owen had an end of the year school program.  It was a collection of patriotic songs and power ballads.  Plus, they all dressed up and were absolutely hilarious.

 

Yes, I was kidding about the power ballads.

Elizabeth's Accomplishments

Our little girl is growing up and showing us new things all the time. 
She crawls.

She pulls up in her crib.

She also has begun feeding herself. 

It's just a matter of time before she's hounding me to buy her the newest style clothes because everyone else has them and if I don't get them for her, it could only mean that I don't love her.  


(sigh)
