Easter Egg Trial Run and Egg Dying

This past weekend we went to Tunica to spend Easter with Papa and MawMaw.  The Saturday before the kids had a practice run hunting Easter eggs at the church.  Elizabeth took right to the challenge.
Owen also didn't shy away from finding plenty of eggs filled with a bunch of treats.
Plus, my boy found the highly coveted "Golden Egg" which set him up with a ton of candy!  That's my boy!
After the morning Easter egg hunt, the kids went to the Perry family farm and played around the farm.  Owen and MawMaw's granddaughter played on the tractor tires.
Finally, after Arnold was fed, everyone switched to dying Easter eggs in preparation for the Easter bunny.  Owen, Carolyn and Lawton did a great job with the eggs.

Easter Egg Hunt and Daddy's Birthday

We took the kids to the park this morning to hunt for easter eggs.  They both had a good time.
Owen even found Smiley the clown who makes balloon animals.  Owen has seen him several times before and always enjoys him.  He's a good fun clown who makes the kids laugh.  Plus, after 1,587,383 kids Smiley still has enough energy for the next 670,252 kids.  It's totally amazing.  Owen asked for a parrot.  So, Smiley set to work!
Here's Owen with the fruit of Smiley's labor.
Afterwards, Amy and the kids threw me a birthday party.  Owen even helped mommy make a superior chocolate cake.
It was a superior cake.  Everyone enjoyed it!  Thanks guys!

Backup Singer

Elizabeth was showing her chops by helping daddy as a backup singer.  At one point, she even tried to show me the right way to play Air Supply (sigh...girls).
After that, she was much happier.  She even belted out some Journey for me.
Whatta girl!

The 8th Samurai

When we picked Elizabeth up from school today we found her hair had been "fixed".
My little Samurai is all grown up...Owen better watch out.

Playing at the park

This weekend, it was finally warm enough to go outside and enjoy some sunshine so we took the kids to the park for an afternoon.  Elizabeth spent most of her time on the swing.
Owen played on just about everything but he had to make sure his new dragon (that he bought with Valentine's day money) came along.
It was a fun packed afternoon.
However, the most entertaining picture of the day came later that evening while Elizabeth was playing with her dolls and her shopping cart.
I would love to know what she was thinking when we took this picture.

Touch n' Brush

The Touch n' Brush had been on Owen's wish list for a while but has recently fallen off the list. I actually meant to put this info out there before but I had pretty much forgotten about it.  That is until the commercials started coming back on.
He used to be so excited.  Luckily now, I think he's forgotten about it.
Oh, and for the people thinking that it would be a funny gift to get for him; please think twice.

Snow Day, Again!

This past Friday we had snow; a lot of snow.  I can't remember the last time Jackson had this much snow on the ground.  It wasn't just a light covering of the ground, there was a substantial amount of snow.  Definitely enough to get out in it and have a lot of fun!
Halle enjoyed it.
Here's a shot of the front of our house covered.
Owen took full advantage of it.

Elizabeth just liked eating the snow.
Finally, two snow angels.
